AYCC Opens Golden Pond Pavilion

New event space debuts during Golden Pond Wealth Management’s 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Alfond Youth and Community Center (AYCC) officially opened its newest event space, the Golden Pond Pavilion and Jolovitz Theater, on Thursday, August 27, during Golden Pond Wealth Management’s 30th Anniversary Celebration at Camp Tracy. The event welcomed more than 300 guests and marked a major milestone in the continued revitalization of the camp’s facilities.

The pavilion and stage are part of a multi-year construction project at the AYCC’s Camp Tracy that includes the Lodge at McGrath Pond, a four-season event center designed to serve as a regional destination for weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings.

The celebration also highlighted Golden Pond Wealth Management’s longstanding commitment to the AYCC and to nonprofit organizations throughout Central Maine. Brian Bernatchez, President and Managing Director, reflected on the significance of the new pavilion, Camp Tracy’s continued transformation, and the firm’s ongoing dedication to support meaningful initiatives. During the event, Bernatchez shared the following remarks:

“As a donor and sponsor, Golden Pond is proud to help bring attention and support to the hidden gems within our community.

Under the leadership of Sue Hawkes, Camp Tracy is undergoing a remarkable transformation. This exciting work is creating a place where children in our community can learn, grow, and shine – not only during summer camp, but throughout the entire year.

“Golden Pond is honored to support this important effort and to be part of a transformation that will have a lasting impact on the children and families in our community.”

The pavilion’s completion marks a significant milestone for the AYCC and Camp Tracy, creating new opportunities to expand year-round programming and experiences for youth and families across Central Maine. AYCC Board President Sue Scacchi said, “The organization is committed to providing world-class experiences that strengthen, inspire, and bring the community together.”

Sue Hawkes, a longtime AYCC Board Member who has provided significant resources and technical support to the project, also reflected on the impact of the new space.

“The AYCC and Camp Tracy are so grateful to have the continued incredible support from Brian and Amy Bernatchez,” said Sue Hawkes. “Their decades of contribution, passion, and dedication have enabled us to provide scholarships, facilities, and opportunities for thousands of Central Maine’s kids. The completion of this exquisite Golden Pond Pavilion and Jolovitz Theater is a testament to their continued effort to support our community.”

Hawkes also extended special thanks to Bert Languet of Golden Pond Wealth Management for his ongoing support of the AYCC, and to H.T. Winters and Lakeside Landscaping for their craftsmanship and dedication to helping create the new facility.

The Golden Pond Pavilion and Jolovitz Theater will serve as a gathering space for Camp Tracy programs, community events, and celebrations, furthering the AYCC’s mission to serve youth and families throughout Central Maine.
