Each weekend the museum offers 4 birthday party spots, two on Saturdays and two on Sundays. This position requires flexibility as the schedule is variable based on when birthday parties have been booked. The individual we hire will be responsible for ensuring the party room is ready for guests, including cleaning the space before and after a party, setting up any special programming materials (like our dance party dome), and ensuring all tables are clean and available. The Birthday Party Specialist will greet the birthday child and guests and assist throughout the party as needed. The right candidate will be willing to lead the children in add-on programming options, such as face painting or tea parties. This position is expected to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, respectfulness, and readiness to offer assistance or answer inquiries by the museum guests. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person, including training on how to oversee the front desk on occasion. Qualifications:● Customer service experience preferred● Strong verbal communication skills● The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, but also work independently● Experience working with children age 4-12 preferred● Given the dynamic nature of museum environments, candidates should be flexible and easily adaptable to changing circumstances● Dependability is a requirement● Must be willing to work on weekends● Willingness to be silly and goofy with children to help make their birthdays extra special. Pay is $16/hour
