As our nation marks the 25^th Anniversary of September 11, we are proud to participate in a meaningful service project made possible through grant funding provided by AmeriCorps and 911Day.org. This initiative reflects a growing national effort to honor the spirit of unity and service inspired by that day.

As the 9/11 Day organization shares:

“This fall, as the nation marks the 25^th Anniversary of September 11^th, we’ll be leading a community service project as part of a growing national movement to permanently transform the anniversary of 9/11 into America’s Day of Doing Good.”

In the coming weeks, dedicated volunteers, including youth from the Burger-Roy Learning Center Program and athletes from our Unified Champions Clubs, have come together to create resources that will support local first responders and the families they serve.

Together, volunteers will assemble:

• Wellness Kits for local First Responders
• Comfort Care Kits designed to help first responders provide comfort and reassurance to children experiencing emergencies, easing fear, stress, and anxiety during difficult moments.

During the ceremony, these kits will be presented to representatives from local police and fire departments as a symbol of our community’s gratitude and support.

We hope you will join us as we celebrate the power of service, recognize the efforts of our volunteers, and thank the first responders who work tirelessly to keep our community safe.
