Community Events Committees provide fund-rasing efforts to support the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce. They assist in planning, coordinating and implementing programs that focus on promotion of networking, cultural and recreational enrichment of the mid-Maine area. Below is a comprehensive list of the Chamber's Events Committees. Each Event Committee meets as necessary nearing the time of the event.
The Mid-Maine Chamber’s Business Expansion and Retention Committee facilitates and collaborates with other agencies to retain and attract quality job opportunities for central Maine residents. One major project that the BE&R Committee maintains is a comprehensive Business Visitation Program in collaboration with the Central Maine Growth Council.
The Executive Committee is formed to provide an effective leadership role in shaping the direction and fulfilling the mission of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce. The Committee consists of Officers that sit on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
Executive Committee oversees high-level functions, such as overseeing the Chamber’s strategic plan, financial and investment stability, budgets, and internal human resource functions. The Committee also assists in funding the KV Transit functions.
The Marketing Committee is responsible for publicizing Chamber activities and programs to members and the community through various types of media.
One major function that this committee is responsible for is determining the information that is displayed on the Chamber’s Web site, as well as updating the layout and functionality of the Web site, including ChamberMaster software benefits. Furthermore, the Information Services Committee decides upon the material, sponsorships and layout of the InTouch Newsletter, which is a monthly newsletter publication circulated to Chamber members and posted on the Web site. The Committee also is responsible for implementing the Community Connection, which is a double-truck, bi-monthly publication printed in partnership with the Morning Sentinel.
The Membership Services Committee is a committee that focuses on increasing membership value for Mid-Maine Chamber member businesses. Some of the major programs that the Membership Services Committee oversees are the scheduling and implementation of Business After Hours networking events, the Chamber Gift Certificate Program, and the Advantage Card Program.
The purpose of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Committee, in part, is to educate its members as to pending ballot issues and legislation relevant to the business community. In many cases the Public Policy Committee will release a Position Statement for publication and distribution through the Mid-Maine Chamber’s Board of Directors.
