is big in Maine, particularly in the summer. There is nothing
like a week spent in Maine where everyone is friendly and
the views are breathtaking. People from all over the world
travel just to get away for their busy, fast-paced lifestyle
and big city living to retreat to a small cottage on the
lake or to hike a hill. If wildlife is not for you, there
are many historical sites, museums and galleries open for
the viewing. There are many parks in the area. North Street
in Waterville is located across from MaineGeneral hospital
and features the Alfond Municipal Pool and the Morton Brody
Playground featuring tennis, basketball courts, swings and
jungle gyms for the little ones. It's a great place to have
an afternoon picnic. To end the days off right, come shop
in downtown Waterville where many old buildings are part
of the daily busy businesses such as shops and restaurants.
There are also some overnight options as well, many motels,
hotels, and bed and breakfasts that can accommodate your
every need. If lodging is not in your interest, there are
campgrounds for the outdoor enthusiast. These are just a
few places mid-Maine offers; you can find more events in
the greater Waterville area by going to our events
page.
Directions:
To get to the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce,
get off at Exit 130 on I-95, and turn towards downtown
(left if you are headed south, right if you are headed
north.) This is Main Street. Follow Main Street going
through three lights and over the railroad tracks. At
the third light, you'll see Rite-Aid on your right, bare
right onto Elm Street. Go through two more lights.
At the second light, you will see a brick building on the
right where the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce
is housed. For a map click
