Mid-Maine has numerous means of transportation to suit business exchange and tourist needs. Interstate 95 bisects the mid-Maine region conveniently, offering five exits and on-ramps that lead to various mid-Maine communities.

We like to say "we are a hop-skip-and-a-jump to the door of endless opportunity" because Waterville is approximately 75 miles from Portland, Maine's largest city; 50 miles from Bangor, Maine's "Queen City;" 35 miles from coastal Maine, a major tourist attraction; and 70 miles from the western Maine ski mountains and Sugarloaf USA.

Approximately one-half of the population of Maine lives within a 50-mile radius of the region. The area is a commercial, cultural, industrial, medical, and recreational center for 150,000 people.

The locale is serviced by Robert A. LaFleur Municipal Airport. The airport accepts corporate and general aviation aircraft landings. Airlink, located at the airport, offers flight training, scenic flights and air charters.

Maine Central Railroad offers freight transportation, and two nearby major deep-water seaports provide water transportation.

Vermont Transit/Greyhound Bus Line serves the region with a depot in Waterville 207-872-5000.

Kennebec Valley Transit provides transportation services for all individuals 207-877-5677 along with The Kennebec Explorer, which provides low-cost and convenient community bus service for Augusta, Waterville, and nearby communities. Several car rental agencies and taxi companies service local residents and tourists alike.

The Bangor International Airport (BGR) is only a one-hour drive north from Waterville and offers a broad range of convenient services, great connections to major cities on major carriers, easy terminal access, and low costs for services such as parking.

Air service is also provided by Cape Air at the Augusta Airport.
