Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits knowledge, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities:

Establishes and develops working relationships with leaders at the department level and with staff.
Serves as first response related to employee relations issues.
Is a visible presence in the departments - prime work locations in the departments.
Supports managers with employee performance and behavior issues; coaches' managers; minimizes risk and exposure; ensures appropriate documentation and compliance.
Promote safe working environment, support workers’ compensation claims administration.
Participate in employee engagement teams responsible for employee events.
Interprets and provides guidance to managers and staff on human resources policies and procedures.
Assists in the design and conducts and evaluates new-employee orientations with system on-boarding and location specific content.
Maintains employee Human Resources files and performs audits for completeness as required by local Member Organization.
Monitors and approves routine personnel action items and escalates issues to the Regional HR Leader.
Completes special projects as assigned.
Tracks HR metrics.

Other Information:

Knowledge of management and organization strategies preferred.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations impacting area of responsibility.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Strong presentation development and delivery skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent writing and verbal skills.
Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
PHR or SPHR preferred.

Competencies and Skills

3+ years of relative work experience required.3 years’ experience in a lead/leadership, program development/coordinating, or Human Resources

Education

Required Associate's Degree
